Featured Films:

The General Starring Buster Keaton

The General (1927) is an imaginative masterpiece of dead-pan "Stone-Face" Buster Keaton comedy, generally regarded as one of the greatest of all silent comedies (and Keaton's own favorite) - and undoubtedly the best train film ever made. The Civil War adventure-epic classic was made toward the end of the silent era. It would take many decades for the film to be hailed as one of the best ever made.

The Kid Starring Charlie Chaplin

"The Kid" (1921, 68 min.) was director Charlie Chaplin's first full-length film and is considered one of his best. "The Kid" is the story of a child abandoned in a limousine by his unwed mother (Purviance). When The Little Tramp finds him, he tries unsuccessfully to find a home for the boy. Obliged to keep him, The Little Tramp teaches the youngster about life on the streets and just as they have bonded and become a family, the boy's mother returns in a bittersweet finale.

The Little Princess Starring Shirley Temple

Shirley Temple stars in this 1939 version of the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel about a little, motherless girl left in the care of a girls boarding school by her soldier father, and then made into a servant there when he's missing in action during World War I. The final scene, in which our Shirley is helped by one of the most famous women in history, brings down the house.

Gulliver's Travels Animated

This animated film was entirely hand painted by over 700 artists over an 18 month period; over 39,000 pencils were used for sketches, and over 12 tons of paint were used to paint the animation cells. It was an incredible feat in 1939 and would cost billions to replicate today. This timeless classic is hailed by critics as one of the best animated films ever.

The Jungle Book Starring Sabu

Rudyard Kipling's classic story of Mowgli, the baby boy abandoned in the jungle, and found by a panther who takes the child to a family of wolves, who will keep him safe, well-cared for and loved. But when a vicious tiger comes around threatening the boy, it becomes clear that the child must leave the animal kingdom and find his place among a species he has never known: human beings.
